Dr. Zoerner, DVM
Veterinarian
Dr. Zoerner is a remarkable veterinarian whose unwavering passion for animals has shaped her life’s journey. From a young age, she knew that her calling was to become a veterinarian, and she pursued this dream with determination and resilience.
Her path led her to the island of St. Kitts in the West Indies, where she attended veterinary school. There, she faced unique challenges, including performing a dog spay without electricity—a testament to her dedication and adaptability.
Upon returning to the United States, Dr. Zoerner completed her clinical year at the Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. It was during this time that she encountered a breakthrough. Despite dealing with chronic pain in her shoulder, she found hope when an Orthopedic faculty member identified the cause. This discovery allowed her to defer graduation from Vet school and undergo surgery for neurogenic Thoracic Outlet Syndrome.
After graduation, Dr. Zoerner embarked on her professional journey, taking her first job in East Tawas, MI. However, her persistent pain eventually forced her to leave a job she loved. Undeterred, she explored other Veterinary clinics across the state, seeking a place where she could connect with pet owners and provide sound recommendations for their beloved animals.
In 2021, Dr. Zoerner founded Pet Well Mobile Vet, her own Mobile Veterinary Practice. This venture allows her to spend quality time with each patient while maintaining the flexibility to care for herself. Her commitment extends beyond her practice—she fosters special needs Springers for English Springer Rescue America and collaborates with the Elk Country Animal Shelter to perform low-cost surgeries for the community.
Dr. Zoerner’s dedication doesn’t stop there. She remains actively involved in trap, neuter, and release efforts for stray cats in the East Jordan and Boyne City areas. Her home is a haven for animals, where it’s not uncommon to find an extra cat or two. Among her cherished companions are her two Springers, Olive and Rebel, and three cats: Ciara, Maybe, and Cassie.
Dr. Zoerner’s unwavering commitment to animal welfare and her tireless efforts to make a difference in her community exemplify the true spirit of a compassionate veterinarian. 🐾🐶🐱
